"Suzuki Ensembles!"

"Making Music Together!"
Participation in group lessons increases a child's musical repertoire, orchestral skills, and knowledge of music note reading and theory.  It helps children develop long-lasting friendships with others who are on a similar musical journey. Group lessons are an integral part of the Suzuki Method™. 

Our new "Suzuki Ensembles" program provides opportunities for children to "make music together" in in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Suzuki Ensembles is open to all string students who are learning, or willing to learn, Suzuki repertoire regardless of which private teacher they are studying with. We welcome all string instruments - violin, guitar, cello, viola, bass. The pieces chosen will accommodate various ages and ability levels. In addition to reviewing fun arrangements of Suzuki pieces, we will rehearse  pieces by Classical composers such as Bach and Vivaldi, plus movie tunes, fiddle, and world music.

​Suzuki Ensembles Rehearsals and Concerts will be on two Mondays per month, 5:45 - 7:10 pm, 5619 Lindley Ave., Tarzana.

2026-2027 Schedule:

1st Trimester (Fall 2026):
Rehearse: Oct 19, Nov 2 + 16 + 30
Concert: Dec 7

2nd Trimester (Winter 2027):
Rehearse: Jan 11 + 25,  Feb 8 + 22
Concert: Mar 1

3rd Trimester (Spring 2027):
Rehearse: Mar 15 + 29, Apr 12 + 28
Concert: May 3

Outcomes

  • The children will develop a sense of community in music
  • They will build connections through music to their peers, parents, and teachers
  • They will learn to play in groups and follow a leader
  • They will develop stage presence
  • They will learn about working toward a polished performance
  • Ultimately the children will learn that music is a gift we can share with others to lift them up
  • And finally they will be prepared to move onto other music ensemble experiences, such as full orchestras, fiddle classes and ensembles, and / or family celebrations​
  • Children and families will cultivate life-long learning in music for many years to come​
