"Saving the world through the power of music!"

The Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles provides a positive environment where children find joy in making music together, where they are eager to learn and motivated to practice, and where they reach a high level of competence in the Suzuki repertoire and in other musical genres.

Solo Recitals Sunday, April 27

Congratulations to all the students! Your hard work and dedication showed in each wonderful performance!

The Suzuki Program of Los Angeles (SMPLA) is an association of teachers who have been trained in the  Suzuki Method™ and philosophy on violin, viola, and guitar. They teach private lessons in the extended San Fernando Valley and in group lessons (Workshop) in Tarzana.

The Suzuki Method™, also known as the "mother tongue" method, is based on the belief that, just as almost all children can learn to speak, all children can learn music, and can develop their talent to a high degree, depending upon their environment.

Children growing up in a musical environment, with loving parental guidance and skilled teachers, can become fine musicians and, of equal importance, can become fine human beings with good character!  Indeed, the Suzuki Method™ seeks to develop "the whole child" through the study of a musical instrument.

We believe that music enhances a child's character by developing musicality, motor skills, self-confidence, and happiness.

In the words of Dr. Suzuki, "Every child can learn...."
